Day 2 Texas

Very good day today as we met up with a good friend Brenda Muncrief who joined us for some birding in the Huntsville area. The day started with good birding and ended with good BBQ at Brenda's birdy backyard.

First stop was Sam Houston State Forest where we stopped at a Red-cockaded Woodpecker site. Here we got a few woodpeckers, including the endangered Red Cockaded. We also saw Red-bellied, Downy and Pileated.

  1. Great trip Ken. Your small brown butterfly on day 2 in Texas that looks like our Aussie Dusky Knight is a Little Wood Satyr - Megisto cymela. All the best for the rest of the trip. Regards, Bob & Karyll.
